Vitamin D3 (elemental) - 400 IU - 0.01 mg
In the form of Vitamin D3 100,000 IU/gr. (origin lanolin) - 4 mg
Vitamin D is more than a vitamin, it can be considered as a pro-hormone. It supports hundreds of body processes and has signal functions in the body.
Vitamin D plays an important role in the development and maintenance of strong bones through regulation of calcium and phosphorus metabolism. Inadequate vitamin D status plays a role in various autoimmune, cardiovascular, infectious, respiratory, mental, certain cancers and eye disorders.
The ability to make and absorb vitamin D, decreases with age.
In our regions we get too little vitamin D through food and the UV index is often too low to convert sufficient prohormone into active vitamin. Moreover, long-term UV exposure is related to an increased risk of skin cancer.
Because of this, a shortage is common. However, higher doses than the RDA can only be considered under medical supervision due to the toxicity of this fat-soluble vitamin.
Bodhi contains 10 μg per capsule (400 IU), the minimum lower limit of the RDA (10 - 15 μg) and 200% of the RI.
We eat too little food that contains vitamin D, such as fatty fish (herring, salmon, mackerel and trout), eggs and mushrooms.
